Energy efficiency deals for UK property owners upgraded21st February 2014
The UK government has announced changes to its Green Deal cashback scheme, which aims to get property owners to be more energy efficient.
As part of a goal to help save energy, homeowners will be rewarded financially when they make improvements.
How much money consumers will receive on some Green Deal measures has been increased, such as double glazing, solid wall insulation and room in roof insulation for those with loft conversions.
In addition, the scheme has been extended by three months to help families enjoy cheaper energy bills by next winter. Applications can be submitted for cashback until the last day of June, the Department for Energy and Climate Change announced.
Energy and climate change minister Greg Barker said: "Inefficient homes use a lot more energy than they need to, which consumers pay a high price for."
